On his kids trips in the bay Captain Carl has been catching up to 50 fish a day including dogfish, sea robins, small sea bass, and fluke toward the ends of the tides.
Captain Bob Gerkens took the Hot Tuna out to a southern canyon and boated 7 yellowfin tuna with three in the 50-60 pound class along with a gaffer mahi and some skipjack tuna.

This means offshore big game fishing with sharks being tops on the menu right now. Some big makos have been reported in the area along with other species.
On Sunday Captain Gary changed direction and went wreck fishing, He reported non-stop drop and reel action with sea bass and big blackfish that had to be returned.
The 2017 summer flounder season has opened in the Beach Haven area, and the captains of the Beach Haven Charter Fishing Association are anxious to put their anglers on these fish. Recent hot spots have included the ICW south of Beach Haven along with the waters of Great Bay.
