Some drifts produced more action from the keeper fluke and shorts, some areas the fishing was slower and had short fluke only. Overall it was a slower day of fishing.
We had action right from the morning with a good drift, later the drift slowed down and you had to fish a little harder to bring the keepers on board, as the drift picked up and so did the action. . August 6, 2014 Report FLUKE MARATHON Tuesday Pictures You missed a decent day of fishing. The following people had their limits of fluke, some of the fluke were up to 6 lbs.
August 4, 2014 Monday report Nice day to be fishing, morning drift was a little slow, that did not stop the short flatties from keeping you busy all around the rail, can't forget the keepers in the mix coming aboard. Tyler Larabuente form Belmar also had some quality keepers and shortie fluke that kept him busy.
August 3, 2014 Sunday Fluke Despite the weather report we had a fairly decent day of fluke fishing, Jerry Witter from Highstown N. J. had a good day by winning the pool with a 5 lb. 2 oz fluke plus he had four other keepers Nick Tucci from Highstown N. J and his group had six keepers up to 3 1 2 lbs, Bobby blackfish, pulled over the rail a 6 1 2 lb.
August 1, 2014 Friday report We had more life today, with the short fluke and keeper fluke in the mix and larger knucklehead sea bass coming over the rail plus we had some ling. Paul Lada of Clinton N. J. had his limit of sea bass, plus three keeper fluke, others also had 1-3 fluke, some had shorts only.
We moved around but, the keeper fluke were not active today, there were a lot of short fluke coming aboard. Overall we had about a dozen keeper fluke up to 5 lbs.
Our high hook today was four keepers, others had three fluke, and some had 1-2 keeper fluke, others had short fluke only, the fluke were there, but the drift slowed fishing. Call Capt. Ron 732-977-2020 or E Mail us.
