Fluke fishing in the ocean has been the best of the year recently, and doormats are finally becoming more common. Indeed, the Angler from Atlantic Highlands got two on the same drift during Saturday's trip. Mike Holodinski of Hillsboro boated an 11 1/2-pounder that took the pool, but not before he got a scare when Paul Schduckalo caught a 10 1/2-pound doormat. Capt. Stan Zagleski reported good action with large fluke the last two days on his Elaine B. II from Bahrs in Highlands even though the wind and a strong current made fluking tough at first before they turned on as conditions improved. Note: I'm having some computer problems at the moment, but I'll have more updates once I get things resolved.
