1000's of NJ Saltwater Fishing Reports, Dozens of Sources, Maps, Wrecks, Historical Search

Not much to report today as everyone seems to have stayed in with small craft warnings still posted due to the big swell. The surf was great for surfers, but rough and discolored for anglers. The NW wind never blew very much, but It's supposed to be stronger on Thursday -- which should help knock the swell down and clear the waters. Capt. Chris Di Stefano of Wall didn't get a striper report, but one friend had a good little tunny bite in Sandy Hook Channel. Maren Toleno of Mantoloking found clear water in Shark River this morning and released four stripers in the 22-inch class that hit poppers -- while Jerry Lasko of Point Pleasant caught two. The Angler from Atlantic Highlands didn't get out today, but found plenty of sea bass Monday even though it was necessary to pick through lots of shorts for the keepers. Porgy fishing continued at a high level, but the blackfish bite was off -- except for Steve Lalandri's 7-pound pool winner.
