11/29/15: Black Friday was a great day to fish! The boats had a good crowd and the atmosphere was exciting. So many familiar faces I've seen before on the day after Thanksgiving, family and friends. My goodness, tradition does exist!!! Nice. We took a ride toward the southern giants (well, that's what the northern boats call it) and they were chewing. Pool winner was Bob Pianetti of Manahawkin, NJ. His giant was 12 lbs on our scale. We will discuss the rest of this story in the paragraph below. Also, on Saturday the pool winner was Jim Dunn of Tuckerton, NJ with a nice 7-lber! A few limits were caught on both days, but the quality was exceptional!

Anyone who loves to blackfish knows no matter if it's a heavy bite or a scratch, you're not 100% positive how big that fish is until the hook-up. I've seen many giants caught, but to see a fisherman passionate about the fish after he lands it, well, say what you want, but to plan the release afterward can be a harder battle than the catch itself, especially when you have to do a weigh-in. Bob Pianetti is an example of his love for the sport and his gratefulness toward the species. Four out of the total fish he and his friend caught were released at the beach by wading them in the water. Bobby said it took 10 or so minutes but the 12-lber made it, and three others, and swam away, very much alive! Lead the way, Bobby! The others made a wonderful meal for others who love to eat fish.

The Carolyn Ann lll will sail one more weekend, just Saturday and Sunday. We are so appreciative of the guys who fish with us and continue watching the boat, but it has to come to a close for the season. Hopefully the weather will be good and the fish will bite, see you at sea.
