November 2nd, 2012 We would like to start by thanking everyone for all of the phone calls, emails and support we have received since Hurricane Sandy hit. If for some reason we are not there, you can leave it on the back of the boat and we will make sure it goes to those in need.
Found some areas of fish and we picked a few blues and a couple stripers. Miss Belmar is sailing daily from 7 30 a. m. - 2 30 p. m. and this Friday Saturday night from 7 30 p. m. - 2 30 a. m. for stripers and blues.
We had a late start as there were problems with the Ocean Avenue bridge, but once we started fishing, we had some really good drifts with a mix of blues and stripers. Fishing was really good all day long catching blues from 8-16 lbs and stripers up to 25 lbs with numerous limits on both.
We also slaughtered the stripers today catching real nice sized one's up to 30 lbs with numerous limits being had. Miss Belmar is sailing daily from 7 30 a. m. - 2 30 p. m. for stripers and blues.
The blues ranged anywhere from 7-14 lbs with stripers up to 25 lbs. Now is the time to get some fall fishing in as we are starting to see the stripers in addition to the jumbo blues we have been catching!
The blues and stripers were all caught on jigs, Ava 47's plain and tailed worked good. The striper fishing should only continue to get better and the weather forecast for the week is looking excellent!
We had a few good drifts where we caught the blues jigging, then the fish on top and readings disappeared so we ran offshore a few miles. We ended up back on the beach at the end of the picking at blues that ranged from 6-15 lbs.
