Much like that infamous August 12th afternoon when the last fish on the boat was the biggest of the day and the biggest of the month, Stan Mitnick, who battled adversity for most of the trip in the form of tangles and light sinkers made magic happen again!There aren t many days like this, but today with our backs pinned against the wall with terrible conditions, we put in a really good day with quality fish.
Yesterday s Pics August Flukemaster Classic Update George Cullen holds the top spot with a 6lb 14oz fish. There were 3 fish caught over 5 pounds along with a half dozen other keepers, but unfortunately the poor conditions took over and as a result the tangles became too frequent.
All but two of the top anglers from yesterdays trip were using natural bait, however, today is a new day, and as you know each day brings on different things. Second Drift The current is now carrying us at close to 2 kts, but we are still catching the fluke well with a few 5 pounders in the mix.
In addition, there is a pretty good roll from the east wind yesterday. Sixth Drift We caught the two biggest fish of the day, both weighing close to 5 pounds.
