Though there were still hits on every drop, everyone aboard had full coolers before Joseph tried drifting for fluke and sea bass on rough bottoms. Surprisingly, there wasn't a single fluke (not even a short) -- but we fell just one sea bass short of a boat limit at the current two per man to conclude a great day of fishing.
Capt. Stan Zagleski said he had a good drift with his Elaine B. II from Bahrs in Highlands that produced decent action including enough keepers that almost everyone went home with a catch. Vinnie D'Anton of Shark River Hills said there was a good shot of action early in Shark River with small stripers and some blues on his Chug Bug.
