Blew the horn to come home at 1 50 p. m. and on the way we ran in to bird life we couldn't pass up and we immediately stopped and threw several keepers in the boat, along with some shorts. We were the only striper boat out of Belmar today due to the lack of customers because of inclement weather.
December 13th, 2011 Today, Captain Scotty reported we had a nice crowd for a beautiful Tuesday in December. We found more life and action around the channels and caught some more keeper stripers, a ton of shorts and more blues.
Our high hook Warren, our good customer, caught 8 keeper stripers, some shorts and blues, keeping only his limit of three stripers and he let the rest go. The weather is looking good the next few days and we are definitely sailing this weekend at 7 30 a. m. for blues and stripers.
Today, Captain Lenny went to the North of our inlet on his own and found quite a few areas of bird life with stripers and blues feeding on the live bait. A couple of customers even had their bonus fish and some nice blues were mixed in with the stripers.
There was a lot of boat traffic but we were still able to put a catch together with stripers and some blues. The fish were paved tight along the bottom and we were able to stay on drifts for 30 minutes at a time where we picked away at stripers and blues with an occasional shot of 5-6 stripers on at a time.
The last half of the day fishing picked up with the stripers and shots of blues. Overall it was a good day of fishing with over 50 keeper stripers, over 40 throw backs and numerous limits.
Today, Captain Lenny reported we started out picking at some stripers early in the morning with an occasional blue. We would like to wish a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to AJ McGowan from Oceanport, NJ who not only had his limits today, but was also our pool winner with a 21 lb 4 oz striper!
