The nicest March weather in years didn't do us much good in terms of fish, and I don't expect any improvement in that from the northeaster that started Sunday evening -- along with rain. Massa went out again Sunday afternoon, and ran about 15 miles around both sides of the bay to see only half of the bait and birds of the day before.

Raritan Bay is full of bunkers, and I got a phone message about three larger stripers that were chunked Thursday night from shore off Great Kills. Frank Huza of Aberdeen fished from shore at Keyport that night, and just missed on a keeper with a 27. 25-incher.
