October 30, 2016 10-30-16 The morning was a little slow, we decided to drift for a while and we had mainly short sea bass. we moved into deeper water and anchored, the action picked up with more keeper bass coming over the rail.
Had the end of the tide and no current, read plenty of Bait and fish where we caught them yesterday but no takers until 10 am when we finally got some outgoing current. Caught a handful of fish at the end of the day in the Ocean where we had much more current and a better drift.
10 30 16 It was a very nice weekend with both the weather and the fish cooperating. We have been starting inshore to put some nice blackfish in the coolers before heading offshore a bit to finish the day with a mixed bag of porgies, seabass along with a few triggerfish and blowfish.
There were a lot of disappointed surfcasters along Monmouth and northern Ocean County beaches today as there was no repeat of Saturday's striper action in schools of peanut bunkers. Capt. Ron Santee found a few stripers from 16 to 23 pounds on his Fishermen, and ended up catching a few bass in the ocean at the end of the trip.
Plan was to Striper for him, then Kim to check out NYC. Got to the grounds and limited quickly under the birds with Kim catching her first Striper ever Made a beeline to downtown and took some pictures on the way.
