1 hour from pulling in the lines with only 1 yellowfin to show for it Capt. Mark DeBlasio read the right ones down deep and a few seconds later they were in the flat lines. 3 rods went off and 1 hour later 3 big-eyes lay on the deck of the 48 Canyon Runner.
Fishing close to home (84 miles from Manasquan) but south of the Hudson Canyon they worked 67 degree water all day in 500-550 feet and picked away at nice yellowfin from 30-45. The Canyon Runner mini-mamba Spreader Bars in purple black was the hot bar today with the squid bars a close second.
Captain Mark DeBlasio and Dean Lambros had the Rich Alverado charter out on the 60 Ritchie Howell on Thursday and caught our biggest bass of the year. Fishing started slow but they began a slow pick when they made a wiggle south and ended the day with 5 bass.
We had all three boats fishing this weekend as the 60 Ritchie was out with the folks from Simrad and the 54' A-Salt and the 48 Viking were going again for about the 15th trip so far this season. Saturday and Sunday saw each boat hooked up to 6-15 big bluefin each day with most fish running 250-300 pounds.

They went right to the chunk on this trip and had a nice shot of fish at 2 30am and another at first light and finished up the chunk with 11 nice yellowfin on ice. They trolled the tip down through the west wall and picked another 3 yellowfin before setting up for tiles nailing a handful before heading home.
Fishing in the area of the Hudson Canyon they had nothing on the troll but at night they made up for it with 7 nice yellowfin and 3 bluefin including an over and an under and one released that was 200 pounds. They added a few nice mahi as well.
