Work first the 100-square and then over to the Southwest corner they picked away at tons and tons of yellowfin. Trolling from Noon to 8pm saw 45 yellowfin boated.
After the mako was in the boat they jogged over to the deep looking for a sword bite. Up on the troll in the morning they immediately starting picking yellowfin, missed a white marlin and had a big-eye clear the water attacking a Canyon Runner Rainbow Squid bar but it missed the hook and never came back.
Up on the troll in the morning they ran down to the 48 Canyon Runner and immediately put 2 - 60 yellowfin in the boat. The best lures were Canyon Runner Rainbow Green Machine bars, Purple Black Squid Bars and Zuchinni Tuna Clones.
Capt. Mark DeBlasio had the Joe Paszutto charter out Sunday to Monday and ran right to where we had all those fish Friday into Saturday at the Toms and South Toms Canyons. He trolled down to the South Toms, Carteret and into the Lindy where is finally found our break we were working and nailed 2 nice 50-60 pound yellowfin.
Putting the lines in just inshore of the tip of the South Toms canyon in 400 feet of water they trolled 100 yards and nailed a 40 pound yellowfin. Up on the troll in the morning we headed back up to the north by the south Toms and started picking away at the small ones again with another 13 yellowfin including 2 more keepers before we finished off at 8am with 58 yellowfin including 11 nices ones and a nic 15 pound mahi.
They left the dock at 2pm with the Phil Lang charter and ran to the South Toms canyon right where they left them the day before. They got back up on the troll by 5 30am and ran back up to the South Toms and immediately started picking away at yellowfin.
They stayed on that break the rest of the trip and put together a nice pick of yellowfin from 4pm to 8pm catching a total of 20. The fish ate mostly Canyon Runner rainbow squid bars and ballyhoo.
We went sout to the Spencer after workign the Lindy and the other boat went north to the Carteret. But the real good news came out of the Caretert where our friend who's reports we believe cuaght 21 yellowfin with 6 yellowfin in the 40-45 pound class.
As soon as they got just north-east of the 100-square had the nicest water we've seen so far and had two 15 mahi in the boat within 10 minutes of fishing. However they decided to shark up in that nicer water hoping for a mako.
She weighed in at 275 on the nose caught by the John Kramer charter from Sacremento, CA. I'll let Capt. Mark provide the full report tomorrow as I only have bits and pieces.
