More limits today than yesterday on very nice fish. Dave B., Tom the Vet, The PA Boys, Big Dave (pool winner), Lenny, Bob and Brian, several others all filling their limits.
Hammer Tom and Brother Gerry, Brett, Larry, Uncle Luna, Never quit Eddie, Scooter Scott, Rob Pags and Tom the Vet who also had today's pool fish at 8 pounds!!Amazing how most of the guys on-board today had read yesterdays post and still came out to fish, the comments made me feel like a million bucks!
What scares me is the lack of bait life on the bottom, the shrimp and readings we would see when the bite used to be on. what happened Was Sandy that powerful that it killed off all the start of the food chain We started to see more bottom life in some area's this past week and a few more short fish but nothing like it should be.
Today was no different with 3 fish topping the 7 pound mark. The pool fish went to young Dominick Marretta, Totowa, N. J. at 7 pounds 7 ounces followed by Tom Krako's 7 pound 5 ounce fish (second seven pound fish for Tom this week, only to be a Bridesmaid once again!!)
When things got right we hit the piece I wanted to fish, on the drift for 2 minutes and I see Javan Hemmel, West Milford, N. J. with his rod doubled over. Fran was back again today after taking yesterday's pool with his friends Dan and Amy, Both had big fish once again.
Most spots we catch a couple, shorts and a nice keeper but can't repeat the drift so we move on. The keepers are still all nice fish from 3 to 7 pounds with not many 17 1 2 incher's this season, where did they all go Tried Ambrose a couple of times, no life yet with the exception of sharks, the flats didn't produce much and the beach has been dead!
