9 10 12 Some pretty crappy conditions today as the wind blew hard NW against the incoming current, still managed a slow drift and a pick at the fish. Myself, Capt. Howard and Capt. Ron Sr. managed a couple keepers each, but surely landed more shorts as we fished the bait all day.
A 10 minute shot at the last minute of a few more customers, we were off, sure glad we went!Second drift I got to toss a line, fishing with bait I dropped down, 2 minutes later on the bounce my rod doubles over, knew right away it was a big one and yelled for Robbie who was netting a fish in the bow. 2 pounder comes to the top and gets tangled with June fishing next to me, my first thought is, she's gonna pull her line trying to get out of the way and de-hook the fish.
After the pulpit went under for the second time we went to plan B!Worked some small pieces of bottom in a fast current with the wind, picking a couple fish on some drifts, then some drifts with none. Not a good day by any means, both with the weather and the fishing, but we gave it hell to catch what we did.
Fridays Report Another Great day on the water both for the weather and the fishing!!Fred Davenport had the day of his life today landing an 8 1 2 pound pool fish followed by another 8 pounder on the next drift.
Wednesdays Report Nice cool breeze in the AM, unfortunatly with the outgoing the drift got way too fast to fish the channels. Milton's first trip since last season had him on fire in the afternoon, not catching a thing in the AM he hung in there fishing the way he always fishes, when it was over he had 4 nice keepers and some Sea Bass in the cooler.
