We came tight, put in the chum and started flinging some sand and oats, hit the bottom with a sardine and instantly caught a nice 18lb Gag Grouper! After we released him we caught several more real nice Grouper s, a couple of Blacks another Gag and even a few nice Reds which all got released alive and well!
Offshore, light tackle enthusiasts are enjoying great tuna fishing, along with king mackerel, sailfish and the occasional wahoo in the mix. WORLD RECORD WATCH I mentioned we are finding some giant Spanish mackerel some are scaling to upwards of 6 pounds, and there is a great opportunity for female anglers to catch potential world records on fly.

Over Under - Viewing Report 2010-01-02 - Key West Fishing Update Hope everyone is having a great start to the New Year and also hope this cold front wasn't as severe when it moved through the great white north, but for some reason, I think it was probably worse. In the backcountry, bonefish and permit have been sunning themselves between coldfronts, but this snap should kickstart our trout fishing, while also pilining pompano, jacks and a variety of other backcountry species into the comfort of the mullet muds.
Over Under - Viewing Report 2009-12-29 - Great Dolphin Fishing in Fort Lauderdale Capt Joe called in and had a great day today. Great Light tackle live-bait fishing options for dolphin here in S. Florida.
The bigger baits have been the ticket here, the small ones seem to stay closer to the surface with the strong currents this week it makes it tough for those baits to swim down like we need them too. Looking forward to another good week lots going on and best of all the weather looks as if it is going to be on our side with temps holding in the mid to upper 70 s. Tight Lines, Capt. John
