Over Under - Viewing Report 2006-07-03 - Final 2006 Bahamas Report - June Blue Marlin off of Crooked Island We've called it quits for the season and have all just returned back to the states after a fishing marathon in June off of Crooked Island. The big tuna all came off of Diana Bank, whereas most of the Blue Marlin came off the NW tip of Crooked Island.
We are headed up to O C Maryland on the 27th of June and begin Charter fishing the 2nd of July out of the Ocean City Fishing Center. We are looking forward to great Tuna and Marlin fishing for the rest of the season hope to see you soon.
Over Under - Viewing Report 2006-05-19 - Islamorada Fishing Report- Dolphin and Tuna We've had constistant, good mahi fishing for the last few days. A fun way to end the day.
The dolphin bite continued to be strong with 5-10 coming to the boat, all but the last day, which was a bit slower and we were primarily targeting blue marlin. On the billfish front, We saw 1-2 fish each day, releasing a sailfish and a 200 blue marlin.
Most of the first day we fished around Cat Island, catching a few dolphin, tuna, and seeing, but not connecting on a couple of billfish. Having hit it pretty hard we wrapped up the trolling about 2 00 and free-dove for a couple hours, then set the hook down, just inside Columbus Point in another great anchorage called Winding Bay.
We decided to duck into an anchorage just inside of Columbus Point, called Winding Bay, so we could get in on the morning bite, before heading back to the dock. The dolphin and tuna all came to the boat though and we had a pretty nice morning bite.
We had about 7 wahoo bites both days fishing on Diana Bank, catching 5 Hoos, the largest of which measured 68 , and was estimtated at about 80 . The photo below is of the largest of the fish taken on Diana Bank.
Over Under - Viewing Report 2006-01-22 - Giant Bluefin Tuna- 500 Boated by the Over Under Bob and Joe boated their second Giant Bluefin Tuna of the week on Friday morning. This Sunday will be our last Giant Bluefin Fishing day, before the Over Under heads to Florida for some maintenance before making its way to the Bahamas for 6 months of Wahoo, Tuna, Dolphin, and Marlin Fishing.
The fish dressed at 297 and was estimated at 380 whole. This was the lone fish caught this day in Morehead, and was a bonus on an otherwise slow season.
