Over Under - Viewing Report 2010-11-25 - Thanksgiving Morning Striped Bass Loaded up the kids this morning and Tyler and I shoved off at the crack of 8 30. Didn't take long and we began catching plenty of Striped Bass, one after the other.
Fishing has been steady to good the last couple of weeks. Striped Bass Rates34 Mirage 600 800 (5hr 8hr) Cape May, NJ 48 Ocean - 700 900 (5hr 8hr) Avalon, NJ If you are already tired of the cold, then check out some of our great Winter Fishing Vacations!
The ocean side, Cape May Rips, and the Delaware Bay are all producing nice catches of Stripers. Over on the Bay, Capt. Tyler had our 34 Mirage out, and chunking fresh bunker put together a great catch of 8 bass to 40 pounds on a half day trip.
Over Under - Viewing Report 2010-10-31 - Open Boat Canyon Tuna Trip This Week We finally have a weather window to get offshore and will be running an open boat Canyon Overnight Tuna Trip Tuesday into Wednesday. Please contact us ASAP if you'd like a spot on this trip.
Over Under - Viewing Report 2010-10-26 - Great Taug and Yellowfin Action Saturday morning we had one of our regular tuna guys out on our 48' with his kids for fun morning of inshore wreck fishing. This is great fishing for the kids, with drop and reel action, only a very short ride from the inlet.
After our last overnight trip (one of our best of the year for sure), we had hoped to fish the same water, a bit further south. So we deployed our 1800' of anchor line and actually manged to find a sliver of warm water just below the SW corner of the Baltimore.
They brought along the new lineup of International 12 s (VS and VSX), as well as the newly designed Torque Star Drag Series. The smaller lighter improved Torque Star Drag reels we were testing (15, 30, and 40 series) were mostly matched to the 80-130 class Torque Jigging Rod, which we have put the test for the last 2 seasons and again, does the job quite well on our standard Yellowfin and Bluefin.
Over Under - Viewing Report 2010-10-15 - Great Tuna and Swordfishing We pulled together another open boat trip this past week and took advantage of the great weather window and reports, and headed on up to the Toms Canyon. The Quick Recap is 8 nice 60-75 pound tuna boat, 200 pound sword (not sure exactly how big, photo below), released a couple other swords, lost saw a couple other swords, broke off a few tuna at the boat, since we were putting extra pressure on them to keep them away from the sword we were battling (3 hours), few sharks throughout the night.
