Over Under - Viewing Report 2008-08-23 - Mid Atlantic 500 Fishing Report - Bluefin Back in Ocean City LOW PROFILE was entered in the Mid Atlantic 500 this week, fishing out of Cape May, NJ. The tournament format allows for fishing 3 of 5 days, and we opted to fish Monday, then again on Thursday and Friday.
Over Under - Viewing Report 2008-08-17 - Low Profile Takes Second in OC Tournament Overnight Tuna Trips, Second Place - Ocean City Overnight Billfish Tournament!We managed to get a bit of an overnight bite going, catching 6 of 10 Yellowfin Tuna bites, and on the troll, the action was also quite good, with a bunch of nice dolphin boated, along with two Wahoo, a Longfin Tuna, and a nice Blue Marlin release as a bonus to the whole trip.
Fun fishing, we found a bucket at the beginning of the week and in 30 years im sure ive never seen that many fish in my life!As the week went on we found ourselves wondering only to find more dolphin and a few tunas.
It was a slow day for most of the fleet, however we did mange to find the Yellowfin Tuna inside the canyon in about 40 to 50 fathoms. The bigger fish continue to be found in and around the 40 fathom curve, and if you are lucky enough to run into them there are some very Big Bluefin still around these days, as the JUSTIFIED found out yesterday.
Fishing has been hot cold this week but the highlight was the 245 lb giant bluefin measured at 76 caught by Joe Trainor on the Low Profile out of Avalon, NJ!It was unbelievable fishing today as for the first time I can remember we had 150 lb class fish crashing on flat lines 20 feet behind the boat.

Big 200 Pound Bluefin AWESOME YELLOWIN BITE!The Bluefin Fishing was outstanding earlier this week, and as often happens, faded during the course of the weekend, as boat pressure kept the fish deep.

Over Under - Viewing Report 2008-07-20 - Ocean City and New Jersey Fishing Report Bluefin Tuna Bite Continues and the Yellowfin Begin to Show Up Inside the Canyons The Bluefin Tuna Fishing got hot and heavy in the middle of this week, as the BIG FISH made a nice showing. Reports from the Tom's Canyon have slowed a bit, with the day trolling bite becoming less consistent, although there are still nice 50-65 pound tuna being caught there.
