We started out fishing in the Poormans from the 000 to the 900 and continued to move down the line with the fish, by the end of the week the fish had us in the Washington. However as the week has come to an end the bites began to get tough to come by, for example the week started out with 20 to 30 fish mostly throw backs and by the end of the week we more like 6 to 15 fish a day, so over all it has been a lot of fun this week.

We trolled offshore for two days and other than bait, weedlines, and blue water we only caught one small yellowfin tuna and one skipjack so on the third day we stayed in and deep dropped in 500-700ft out front of Guana and caught some nice yellow eye snapper and a small thresher shark. The begging of week bought great promise with lots of small yellowfins all along the 100 fathom line between South Poormans and about the 800 square just above the Washington canyon. Not fishing in the tournament rather just charter fishing this weekend I couldn t wait to get back out to the yellowfins, one small problem the WEATHER sorta got us Friday was perfect almost to nice .

Fish from 30 to 70 pounds are being taking on 20 to 30 pound gear, using primarily shucked clams. Further off in the Canyons, again the occasional Bluefin Tuna is being reported, but the Tile Fishing is red-hot in the Wilmington and Baltimore Canyons.

The Yellowtail snapper where another story, we struggled found some nice flags but mostly 2lber s. Bait of choice glass minnows and shrimp on little 1 8oz jig heads and straight 20lb. Capt Jeff tried he s luck out back and found pretty good action on the Sea Trout ranging up to 5lb s. Overall it has been dodging storms and keeping dry most of the week.
