Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Report Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Report September 29, 2011 Bad weather forecasts, good weather, a little rain and some good Sea Bass fishing dominated our week here at the Wharf. I have actually seen a few limit catches made, and many anglers have been able to come real close to that magical limit catch of twenty- five Bass enjoying the last couple of weeks of the Sea Bass season before the split closure on the 11th of October.

We had seen a nice variety of fish initially just after hurricane Irene passed catching some Jumbo Croakers, a few Sea Bass, lots of Snapper Blues and a few Fluke on each trip. As the days passed the big Croakers seemed to disappear a little more each day from the old grounds and we were making up our catch with mostly Sea Bass, Bluefish and just a few nice Flatties.

They had enjoyed a few great weeks on these fish but over the last several days things have been tough with these Croakers. Half-Day trips will be sailing twice daily at 8 00 a. m. and then again at 1 00 p. m. Half-Night trips sail just Friday and Saturday nights departing at 6 00 P. M. I will be running Full-Day trips daily departing the docks at 7 00 a. m. and don't forget to print out a 10 off coupon from the August 4th fishing report it is good until the end of August every day except Saturdays.

Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Report Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Report August 10, 2011 Its been another interesting week of fishing here at the Wharf, the Flounder continue to both please and frustrate anglers, the Croakers have made their best showing yet this year up in the Delaware Bay, and the offshore fishing scene continues to be red hot setting the stage for what should be a great White Marlin Open for the offshore specialists this week. The offshore scene has continued to be very good with Tuna, I spoke with a long time friend and Captain just a couple of days ago that specializes in offshore fishing and he told me he couldn't remember how long it's been since the Tuna fishing has held on this consistent for so long.

I would like to be able to give you a better report with our Flounder fishing over the past seven days, however barring a couple really decent trips, these last seven days will have to go down as our slowest week on the keeper sized Flounder since we started with them back in June. I can't say that the fishing is bad- I really can't, for the most part we still continue to pick at these flatties good during at least some part of our day and I have most definitely seen some terrific Flounder catching action recently, it's just that getting the keepers to add up by the end of the day lately seems to have become a real chore, we have had a couple of days where we have actually struggled just to get into double digits with legal fish.
